Harvest 2015 & Spawn 2016

Hi, all,
he point of the 2015 pull was to reduce the fish load, exchange the old water for clean and most importantly, take a look at how the F1 oyagoi are coming along.
1. We did examine and photograph the three F1 males who will used in the 2016 spawn.
2. We checked out the back-up females that didn't make the first cut last year. They will replace the two females who lost their winning looks over the winter and also the fish who "disappeared.'' The potential replacement females look very promising.
3. We checked out the fry from the ki shusui 2014 redo spawn of the original parents, as well as general flock spawn from the residents of the Big Pond.
4. Having identified the best potential oyagoi and photographed them, all were returned to the Big Pond for the winter. We will pull the pond again in May and set up the winners for breeding.
See the Ki Shusui 2015 Video tab for YouTube clips of the bowled fish during the 2015 Harvest.
Below are the best three males.
The three koi below are the three female candidates.

2016 Spawn!
The six ki shusui oyagoi captured and pictured on this page, spawned on May 12, 2016. See photo to left of oyagoi inside net basket with spawning media. Fry hatched on May 18. We will post photos and as there is news to report!
This site is a documentation of my breeding project in New York State. I am trying to stabilize a line of kishusui. To date, this has never been done. My thanks to those who have asked to buy my fish. At present, we do not sell koi -- or anything else! Thanks for stopping by!
